lets discuss some myths about vampires

ok first off we're not dead, walking dead, living corpses, undead or any of that. we're just as alive as anyone else, where did all that dead stuff come from? well to answer that lets look at how you become a vampire in the first place.

ok if a vampire bites you you wont become a vampire, there has to be a fluid exchange, like if a vampire bleeds into an open wound or you get a transfusion from us or something, and even then you won't NECESSARILY become a vampire. you see vampirism is actually the result of being infected by a strain of a virus called poryphia, and even then 90% of the time you just get really bad flu and anemia like symptoms for a few months. but if you're one of the lucky few people like myself with certain genetic triggers, the virus will trigger radical biological changes and mutations in you.

first off a vampire has the lowest core body temperature in any known mammalian species, we operate at 75 degreegs F, which makes our skin cold to the touch to anyone else. second our hearts undergo a change, it still pumps blood through our bodies but does it in a continuous manner without contracting, so we have no discernible heartbeat or pulfse whatsoever. our lungs undergo a similar change, making them more like the lungs of birds, allowing us a continual unidirectional respitory system, so we hardly ever appear to breathe either,  with the cold white skin, no heartbeat and no breathe it's easy to see why people think we're the living dead.

a vampire's body takes on attributes of a nocturnal predator, because we live our lives away from the sun, we lose all melanin in our skin, turning it completely white.(and no we do NOT sparkle) our eyes, sclara and all, are not just black but vantablack, like the eyes of moths our eyes reflect no light allowing us to see clearly in low and no light situations. our teeth of course become fangs and our finger and toenails become claws. also our ears are pointy because it allows for sharper hearing. our muscle mass become more dense allowing us heightened strength speed and agility. what a lot of people don't know is we develop magnetic and heat sensory organs and gecko like pads on our hands and feet allowing us to scale sheer surfaces.

ok now lets talk about what you're all thinking, the blood drinking, see one of the drawbacks of being a vampifre is our digestive system has trouble with solid food, we can still eat normal food on occasion but too much of it makes us reallly sick, like a lot of species we gain the majority of our nutrients through hemophagy, although it doesn''t HAVE to be from a human, synthetic blood, cloned blood animal blood, and agreements set up at local hospitals and blood banks provides me with what I need just fine, I've never actually bit a person in my life, I've only drank from a person a handful of times (because they specifically asked me to) and even then I never actually bit them, as I didn't want to chance spreading the virus to them, I prick them with a sterilized lancet device (like the kind diabetics use to test themsselves) and had them bleed into a glass.

oh and all those weaknesses we supposedly have?  sunlight garlic and silver will not nessicarily kill us, we DO have allergic reactions to them though, garlic wards me away the same way a jar of peanut butter wards away someone with a severe anaphylactic peanut allergy, sunlight and silver will make me break out into hives and blisters, so I don't wear real silver and if I HAVE to go outside in the daylight I just cover myself from head to toe.  as for all that other stuff? crosses and holy water and the like? yeah that's pure bunk, the mutation we go through does affect most of us mentally though and we find it easy to embrace the stereotypes and tropes in that fragile mental state, which means yes I do sleep in a coffin, I realize it's crazy but I can't help it, although that does have it's practical uses concerning the photosenitivity allergy and all. oh and a stake through the heart? well that would kill ANYONE wouldn't it.
